Description

Again, the English weather has been delightful! Hail one minute, snow the next...and finally a spot of sunshine!

I'm not entirely happy with this one, critique definitely welcomed.

I saw someone I watch write a critique on this photo and to my surprise the critique was stunningly positive. It's hard to achieve any level of originality nowadays in photography, so I personally don't like to judge that aspect of a shot.

A cliche shot can still be breathtaking if it's well executed and a wonderful, creative idea can come out horrible if the execution has failed. Sky shots ofcourse belong in the cliche category, but I'm a huge fan of skies so I don't mind that.

In this shot, I think the cloud formation creates a lovely composition for a photo. I think the shot could be better composed if you've taken more of the ground with you in the photo to create a bit more depth.

The post processing is not good. I've seen other works in your gallery so I know you can do a lot better. In this shot, I think the contrast is too big. The black landscape add no depth to the shot and the colors of the sky are too vivid and saturated. I don't mean to be harsh in any way, but it reminds me of the first time I edited a photo in Photoshop.

All in all, I think you can do much better and judging from your artist comment, I think you know this yourself as well.

Greets,
Cho
