Dancing with HailHailstones were dancing the day I wasn't meant to save your life. The grass was the fresh kind of green that comes alive sometime between the end of March and the beginning of April. The ice bounced noisily from the wide windscreen of the ambulance as we sped through country lanes, red lights and sleepy hamlets. When we stopped at the edge of the valley, overlooking endless fields of grass the air became silent. The hailstones fell silently here, but they danced among the blades.

I saw your car first, before anything else. There was a police car, a fire engine and an alarmed Farmer leaning heavily on his walking stick, breathing hard, shock.

Day Eighty Eight: Keep Calm OR NOTby ^Kaz-D

So here in the UK we were threatened with Petrol Strikes - meaning that the drivers of the tanks are talking about going on strike because of pay/conditions and whatever else. But it was just talks to begin with. Yesterday a government minister told everyone to go and fill up their tanks and get jerry cans of petrol. So they did. Today ministers are still telling people to not panic but to go and fill up their tanks.

At eleven am this morning I went through my local town to find that no petrol stations had unleaded petrol - three out of the five we do have were shut. One manager of a petrol station told me that they aren't expecting a delivery until tonight or tomorrow morning.

Everybody's all 'in before strike starts' and this is what happens. It does make for some nice photography -when you can get near the places. Lots of people have broken down as they haven't got petrol...

Bloody petrol panic buying drove me round-the-bend-insane this weekend. The worst thing is, I was driving on red and needed the stuff!

A thoroughly apt social comment, here. Silly government ministers and silly BBC causing silly panic silliness.

that makes so much sense, was driving home from Poole to Winchester and every gas pump was stuffed full of people, the queues were insane at every gas station I passed. So confused.
