I know I have been quite inactive the past month, alot of private stuff going on and upcoming exams, but I will try to be more active again from now on. Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling

I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.
I haven't finished writing SPIKE yet.
And I honestly don't know when it will be finished - which oddly enough brings us to the good news:
I've made a new, major decision in the SPIKE story that I think a lot of you will be happy to hear. As usual I don't want to spoil too much, but there is a part in the story where Spike and Sam are separated from each other for quite a long while. Life - as I know it right now!

So I've spent the last week loading an array of journals into your inbox's and generally attacking you with all things ^Kaz-D Hopefully that will calm down now - and then I suddenly thought, with all these articles and bits of news and such I've been quite impersonal. Let's have a bit of life to counteract that! Firstly on the topic of name changes - I'm not going to change mine, not now or ever. So rest assured Kaz-Dizzle won't be appearing any time soon. (Although I did threaten it to the CV team).

I was surprised at how quickly some people changed their names. There were the obvious changes, such as adding or removing dashes or capitalization which in some respects makes sense. But there were others who just discarded their old name after 5 or 6 years of wearing it and took something completely different. I don't have a very good visual memory, or memory in fact, so anyone who did those changes is likely to drop off my radar a bit as I won't recognise you by avatar. Did you change your name? If so why? I'm intrigued to know...

Life is generally ticking over - these coming weeks are set to be the busiest of the year so far whilst I juggle my full time job alongside the arrival of the olympic torch - the queen's jubilee celebrations and a Wedding. All requiring photography services! In between all of that there are essays to be written and the 365 challenge to be kept up which really shouldn't be that hard given that I will end up living and breathing photography. Uni doesn't break for the Summer this year which will be a minor shock to the system but regardless of that I've bagged myself a lovely little cottage overlooking the Iconic Needles on the Isle of Wight to spend a few nights relaxing in.

I've actually been making things of sorts. Culinary Creations has inspired me to get going. Actually that's not true - *claremanson has inspired me! Her baking creations are awesome and I've been creating to try and get some shots like hers. I love her work - I only wish to taste the food now!

The Eurovision is coming up - traditionally friends and I watch it, drink a bit of alcohol and in general spend the whole evening laughing. This year I will spend it alone!! I can't even begin to imagine how I'll cope...

Reccomend me some Reads!

Last week I had a delightful offer to have some of my poetry published - but right now that's top secret so don't tell anyone!! I haven't been writing much lately, but the Kindle is actually inspiring me somewhat. I've loaded a variety of books on there and I'm currently ploughing my way through. I'm trying to pick out some Summer Authors to get stuck into but nothing is really taking my liking. Right now I tend to read cute books rather than serious ones because I find that with my law studies the reading can get quite tedious and I need something...different. _{Yeah right I just love trashy reads}

I read Jodi Picoult, Joannna Trollop, Anita Shreve, Linwood Barclay, Harlen Coben, Patricia Cornwell, Diane Chamberlain & Rosie Thomas right now. Any similar reccomendations would be gratefully received. I'm all set for a few nights of dvd watching thanks to ~TouchedD who has got me hooked on Scrubs.

I changed my name so it would match other sites I am on. It was bittersweet since my old name was a nick my Papa gave me as a child. What has become confusing for me are the ones who also changed their avatar at the same time
