The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Update: Complete forgot! I have a fireworks video to share..

So I thought it was about time for an update, whilst articles and such have been going ahead as normal, I haven't really been here lately. I'm currently enjoying two weeks off of work (one week has gone already!) and have just spent lots of time with ~TouchedD. We went to Wales last weekend, which was awesome if not a little crazy at times - some of the roads are just - well - not car worthy! Also my satnav likes to drive me around the bend, literally, a hundred times. This week we've been chilling, which actually means we've been doing all the things. Two baby shoots, walking and lots of other bits of pieces. ~TouchedD convinced me to get the Kindle Fire HD - okay, I convinced him I needed the Kindle Fire HD. And honestly, it's incredibly. If you go from an ipad or something similar to the kindle fire then I think you'll notice it's limitations pretty quick. But if you're like me, with a laptop/desktop computer and I had the kindle keyboard before - then it will likely seem amazing. I LOVE it! We rounded off our epic week together by watching the local fireworks display last night. It was perfect. But cold.

So now I have a week ahead off of work, lots of uni work to catch up on and bits and pieces to do. I'll be catching up on deviantART happenings too and getting things organized for the month ahead. It's nearly Christmas!

Wooo for free time.

And Wales, ooohh, I really need to visit there... actually, throughout the whole of UK.

I've been to England twice, first in Wigan and then in Cambridge, and I fell in love with the country. XD But there are so many other places I want to visit too... Next summer I'm hoping to do a road trip around Finland either with my fiance or my brother or cousin or with a group of friends and family.
