“What i like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.”
―
Karl Lagerfeld
This week I spied an awesome topic in *Fuzzypiggy's journal and knew instantly that it was what I would talk about for edition twenty eight. "Underground train system bosses are set to ban all photos under new proposals that have angered photographers.." You can read the full article for yourself here but I would love to get some discussion going amongst us all as to whether or not the proposed ban would effect you. I'm personally quite pleased that the latest articles report a U-turn in the proposals so it doesn't look as if anything significant will come of them this time. But what bans and restrictions do you face in your country when taking photos? Are there any areas you cannot photograph or even be seen in with a camera? How does this affect you?

Project Educate
Feedback Frenzy is fast approaching! It's a week long game that ANYONE (yes, even YOU!) can play. The goals are to step outside your comfort zone and practice giving feedback to others, even if not in your own genre, and also to meet new deviants from across dA. Finally, the aim is to receive as much high-quality, usable feedback on your work as possible. It's running from 2nd - 8th of July and signups have begun. Get over to #FeedbackFrenzy for more INFO! Lots of amazing prizes to be had! This week it was Animation week with `ditto9 - have a browse of some of the articles submitted!
Next week the Artisan Craft Community Volunteers are educating and have a week full of excellent things to keep you occupied - including an article on how to photograph your projects/crafts/objects! You can check out the full schedule here for the Project Educate dates over the coming months. Do you fancy educating the community on something art related? Note #projecteducate !

What Digital Camera? is the latest article in the Photography Troubleshooting Series. It will hopefully give you some tips on what to keep an eye out for when selecting your first, or next, camera. Huge thanks to `sine-out who has been the wisdom behind these articles. We have no more questions left to answer! Do you have a question? Send a note and we will feature it in the next articles!

Darkroom
Community Volunteer ^RockstarVanity
This week the general theme of the article is Darkroom. As you might have noticed, the Photography Galleries saw a new edition to the team last week with ^RockstarVanity coming on board to take on Darkroom. That means that all your suggestions related to the category must go to her. And it also means that she has been incredibly awesome with educating us about what Darkroom is already!
Darkroom Exposed is a series of articles highlighting talented deviants, noteworthy art and helpful information all about the Darkroom Photography gallery on dA. This particular issue focuses on Lith prints - never heard of them? Well check out the article for more info!
As always, keep a close eye on this journal for all the updated news from the Darkroom Galleries.

Architecture
Community Volunteer ^anmari
Do you feel there is a need for changes in the Architecture Photography Gallery? Perhaps the addition of a sub-category for Abstract Architecture? Do you disagree with this idea completely? Well make yourself heard on the article Architecture Photography: Need for changes?
Plus there's still time to enter the contest for #AbstractArchitecture and the chance to win a subscription if you're one of the lucky winners! Check out the rules and regulations Here!

People & Portraits Photography
Community Volunteers ^Kaz-D | ^3wyl | ^IsacGoulart
This week saw the publication of a brand shiny new article focusing on People & Portraits. As myself and the other General Photography Volunteers work on the Gallery Descriptions, we began to notice that there is definitely room for education surrounding our lovely Portraiture. People & Portraiture Exposed hopes to start the ball rolling and already there have been lots of queries as to what gets categorised where. If you're struggling to know where your Portrait should go, shoot me a note and I'll be happy to help you. In the meantime keep an eye out for the articles, and as always, if you want to get your work featured in them - let me know.

Nom Nom is still going strong with the latest article focusing on drinks! This time around it was Cocktails, which I do apologise for, many of you had the urge to go out and drink alcohol and that was not my intention! Next week we're sticking with something much safer - Ice Cream!

Over at #Still-Life-Stills we're finding our feet with our influx of members. We've just started up the Photographer of the Week feature - which this week went to ~1510 who took the crown from `dragonfly-oli (who will always be awesome of course). If you think you deserve the crown for a week and a spotlight on our front page, then let us know by sending a note!

From the Forums
There's lots from the Forums this week! Remember you can utilise areas of the Forums for answers to some of your burning Photography questions or help others out by answering theirs.
Photography Books
Definitely one for the Christmas List - especially if you're considering embarking on a photo a day challenge next year! 50 Photo Projects - Ideas to Kickstart Your Photography is a fantastic book written by Lee Frost. He helps you get much more from your camera, and for those with photographers block, lack of inspiration, or just those who are plain running out of ideas, it's incredibly useful! Check out more information Here!
Features to keep an eye on!
There's so much going on around the community especially for Volunteers that sometimes the awesome news can be missed out. I hope to share any weekly or monthly features that are ongoing here so that you can browse them at your leisure. If you know of something that needs to be listed let me know!

You can get yourself into Photography Weekly just by sending me a note! Each week I look for:

Perhaps these articles should be renamed "A whole ton of repeated links… oh and a paragraph of photography" instead?
I much much much preferred the article on what digital camera should you get [link] That article had one single topic: picking a camera. And while there were a couple of thumbs, they weren't so packed in there that the page took me minutes to load and it seemed like an excuse to get attention from everyone featured. These? I just see no real interest for anyone who wants to hear about photography. Which is very sad.
I'm not forcing you to read them. If you do believe they are chocked full of crap, then just ignore them
