Within this article we (myself and 3wyl) are looking for your feedback on specific areas of the Photography Galleries and in particular what you'd like to see happening with regards to the following..
Daily Deviations
As you know, 3wyl and myself are your General Photography Community Volunteers. That means we take Daily Deviation suggestions for all the Photography Galleries that don't have a volunteer looking over them. My Guidelines for suggesting daily deviations can be found here and 3wyl's here. As we cover a lot of galleries, we would like to know whether or not we are neglecting anything. What do you want to see more of, or indeed less, or something in particular, perhaps? In essence, are we covering what you like to see? Let us know! (We also appreciate your daily deviation suggestions very much so please keep them coming!)
Forums
The Forums are a brilliant place for public discussion, and with the great success of our Monthly Photography Critique Thread, we were thinking of utilising the Forums further for 'Workshop' type threads in which the Volunteers from the Photography Team will post a popular photography question to invite you all to contribute your thoughts and opinions. We will soon start these threads in the Photography Forum, after which we may gather the thoughts and opinions from you all and post a sticky thread so that you have that resource to go to. If you have any ideas at all on what kind of questions we could ask to the Photography Community both in the forums and elsewhere, please feel free to state so in a reply to this blog!
Chat Events
Our monthly chat events are still continuing - November's has already come and gone and we will be aiming for a Christmas theme next month! However, we do want your feedback on what you would and wouldn't like to see happening during these, and whether we can do more - and whether you, as a member of the community, would like to run one yourself. Would you like to run a critique night, perhaps, or a games night? If you would like to host a photography chat event, let us know!
Groups
Another feature we use alongside the Forum and Chats is the Groups Platform! We have been working on various groups surrounding General Photography so that there are bases for specific genres, sub-galleries of photography. This is just a refresher of what we're currently doing and where you can find some CV led groups:
- Still-Life-Stills is for the Still Life Photographers
- Abstract-and-Surreal is for Abstract and Surreal Photographers
- PeopleAndPortraits is a group for all People and Portrait Photographers including Fashion, Art Nude, Fetish, Glamour and Cosplay.
Troubleshooting Articles
For some time now we have been putting together weekly Troubleshooting articles for you on specific topics, often answering queries from the community. We are now going to do these twice a month with the addition of Tutorial articles thrown into the mix; so, once a month you'll have a troubleshooting article, and once a month you'll have a tutorial! We would love to know what sort of things you'd like to see covered under either or both of these topics so if you do have an idea, or a concern, even, please don't hesitate to contact us about it!
Photography Weekly
As many will know, this has been a weekly article for almost 50 weeks now - almost a year! We've decided that it's just too much to do it every week and we're running out of things to bring to you, so it's going to become fortnightly for the foreseeable future. Unless you really don't want that! Which brings us to the next bit - what do you want to see in these articles? How can we improve them for you? For information on what we currently include, check out the latest article!
Features
At the moment, we bring you unknown artists through 3wyl's series of To Be Seen - is that enough for you to discover under-appreciated talent? Do you have suggestions on what we can do to improve the series and do you have anyone in mind you'd like to see exposed? We also feature Food Photography every week in Nom Nom and People and Portraits Photography in People and Portraits Exposed. If you have thoughts on how these articles can be improved, how we can make them better, or what we should include in them, then do let us know.
Final Note
All in all, we, as a photography community, wouldn't be much of one without every single one of you taking part in it, whether that is through deviation submissions, features, projects, contests, chat events, forums, and even your contributions of your thoughts and opinions too.
Every single action you take in the photography community is important and as part of your Photography Team at communityrelations, we endeavour to get involved in what is happening, and support you all in the community through not only fostering creative genius, but actually being there willing to hear (or read, rather) what you have to say, what your opinions are, what you are thinking.
It goes both ways, and we simply can't be the best we can be, or do the things you'd like us to do, without your input so this blog is the chance for you to do exactly that.
Thank you all for reading! We look forward to the replies.
