The Beauty of the Bee...

Those of you who know me and my most recent Bee escapades will probably think that I am the last person who would be promoting their existence and in general harping on about how we need to Save The Bees . But that's just it. A run in with a local Bee has made me not only even more awestruck by the power they hold, but also intrigued...what exactly makes a Bee? After creating This Blog Entry I was prompted to look into the lives of Bees a bit further...



In Britain, our native British Bees are dying out. With them, will go our Flora, Fauna and a third of our diet. By all accounts we could have less than A Decade to save them. There are over 250 species in Britain alone.

To you, reading this in a world where statistics are often used to scare people into donating, giving, speaking and more...those numbers may seem few. But we're not talking Bees in general...we're talking about A Species .

2. Plant Bee-friendly Plants
3. Create natural habitat gardens
4. Find out more about bees
5. Support your local beekeepers
6. Make your own 'Wild Bee' house
7. Become a beekeeper
8. Lobby your local MP or MEP
9. Sign petitions banning pesticides
10. Encorage your local authority to do more!

Why Write About It Here?

Why? Because you might not actually realise it...but the Animals, Plants and Nature Community here on Deviantart is HUGE. Without Bees, those awesome shots you see in the Daily Deviations each day, those incredible landscapes, macros and other inspiring pieces of nature art - just simply might not exist. Bees not only keep nature alive and thriving, they keep our interpretations alive...our ability to share.
