Stamps are a great way to show your support for a project, a person or a group of people, spread awareness for a cause or promote a contest. It is also valid to do them just for fun, with just a funny image and/or message.
Since their introduction to the deviantArt galleries, millions of stamps have been created with a great variety of messages, both silly and serious, and you can see them all over the place, from journals to profile widgets.
The Community Relations department exists to encourage, facilitate and develop the relationship with our deviantART community. Our goal is to nurture our community by encouraging, stimulating artists to create, collaborate, and participate in a friendly, safe, and supportive artistic environment.

Hot off the Press - Our Vector CV is in Print!In case you haven't heard already, `ChewedKandi - our dedicated and definitely awesome Vector Community Volunteer has been working hard with Adobe! The result? Her book has JUST been published!
But that's not all - the book involves 30 emerging artists within the Vector Community and most of them are from deviantART! The book explores their work, their inspirations and some tutorial projects that will help those looking to learn a bit more. Whether or not you're seriously into Vector doesn't actually matter, because this beautiful showcase of works has something for everybody.

This week Horacio Coppola died. Many will not know the name, but in the Photography world he was pretty awesome. He died age 105, and was famous for taking Black and White photographs of Buenos Aires in the 1930s. But he also photographed normality. Some of his works included egg and twine - quite simply an egg and a piece of twine. Others featured a typewriter, but ultimately he shot normality, the everyday things that people overlooked. He's said to be one of very few photographers who manage to capture the romance, vitality and squalor of a great city. So a legend has died, but somewhere another will rise up through the ranks. In my opinion, one of the greatest advantages to the New Submission Process, are the thumbnail examples and descriptions that appear when you're selecting a category. It's no secret that we have misplaced deviations throughout the galleries and it's probably the most complained about topic I deal with on a daily basis. My team and I have been working hard to improve the descriptions and thumbnail examples for all of the galleries, and I'm happy

Weather Photography has always fascinated me - the weather in general does anyway, but capturing those changes, shifts in atmosphere and so on have always had me in awe. However when browsing the latest news within popular photography early this week I was stunned by an image that NASA had captured of hurricane Isaac as it lurked over the USA. I've been in a hurricane before, but it never felt as organised or precise as this image shows. This shows a smooth beautiful cloud formation. When below it's likely wreaking havoc and destroying lives. It's difficult to match the two together and contemplate them as the same thing. It's also incredible how we've advanced in terms of technology. This shot of Hurricane Isaac was captured at the end of a month in which images have been transferred from Mars. We, as a human rac

REMINDER Gallery Makeover Project JournalsGreetings Deviants!
As I have no doubt most of you have heard from $Moonbeam13's journal, a lot of the galleries here on DeviantART are having a makeover. This largely consists of merging and getting rid of categories, but please take a read of the original journal for more details.

I am sure a lot of you have seen these gallery makeover journals floating around already, but here is a definitive list of all the journals so far. Please note that not all galleries are on this list, more may be added later. Also some of these links may be updated in future, and we'll be sure to update the link here as neccessary.

Please comment on the appropriate journals for each area if you have an opinion as to how each gallery can be updated. Remember the more opinions the better so share this journal, and lets get as much of the community involved as we can!

Where I Live Photography Contest - Win LOTS!

To honour the creation of #CRPhotography, we are hosting our first official contest - with a fantastic bunch of prizes donated by #communityrelations and various groups! There are a few rules, and a theme to follow, but other than that - have fun and get creating. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask ^3wyl or myself, or note the group.

Submission

Submit your photograph into #CRPhotography's gallery folder here. Simply click the 'Suggest a favourite' button in the top right hand corner and select your deviation. Once it has been approved, it will appear within the contest gallery.

18th March

End Date:

April 30th [Midnight PST]

Results:

May 8th

Theme

'Where I Live' ~ This is a contest open to all genres within the Photography Gallery as long as you illustrate and demonstrate the theme well. You can involve people, places, settings, props and so on to illustrate your country/the place you live in the best way possible.

Rules

You must include in the Artist's Comments that your deviation is an entry for #CRPhotography's Contest.

Submissions must be newly created, on or after 18th March.

One submission, per person, and work MUST be your own!

Please give a little background of your image and mention why it illustrates your country.

Manipulation must be minimal, i.e. you can change your images to black and white if you wish, but must not manipulate them beyond what the camera is capable of.

Mature content must be clearly marked.

You need to be a member of the group to contribute.

Prizes:

1st ~ 1 Year Premium Membership + 2100

2nd ~ 1 Year Premium Membership + 500

3rd ~ 6 Month Premium Membership + 500

There will be additional prizes available to those who have shown considerable thought and effort in creating their entries and those who have shown extra creativity and execution. Each of those will win...
